Between the lack of a solid source and the short timeframe, the Nintendo fanbase is largely skeptical of this claim. Furthermore, this wouldn’t be the first time someone claimed that Switch Pro pre-orders would be announced in early June, as a previous rumor claimed the Switch Pro would be open for pre-order on June 4. That date came and went without the updated console being made available or formally announced, leading to a certain degree of cynicism when this post asserted that pre-orders would open on June 8.

There is a long list of pre-E3 Switch Pro rumors and leaks out there, ranging from potential tech specs to a possible retail price, but very little is known for sure about the upgraded Switch console. Perhaps it’s that absence of concrete information that has led to a boom in speculation. After all, the Switch Pro hasn’t even been announced, and everything that is “known” about the Switch Pro comes from fans or industry leaks that are varying degrees of convincing. Even the name ‘Nintendo Switch Pro’ is a fan creation.

Whether or not this leak holds any water, it’s clear that Nintendo fans are more than ready for a new console to be announced. One fan even created a joke logo for the Nintendo Switch Pro referencing many other properties, especially ones with lengthy names. The fact that some comments on u/AidThisFellowUser’s post are cautiously hopeful says something about how much fans are looking forward to getting their hands on the console.

The Nintendo Switch Pro is rumored to be in development.
