When asked about her opinion of the script, Taylor expressed pure excitement, saying that she can’t wait until she’s able to play Fallout 4 in order to experience the narrative as a cohesive unit. And while she admits that the vast amount of time spent working on the action-RPG influences her judgment, Taylor goes on to compare the high quality and meticulous nature of Bethesda’s production process, likening the game developers’ tastes and expertise to the creators at Pixar, saying:
Bethesda’s decision to amplify practically every aspect of Fallout 4 is well-documented at this point. For starters, we know that the game is set to have double the assets of Skyrim. Not to mention, it’s been reported by the title’s Lead Producer Jeff Gardiner that during Fallout 4’s development, he played more than 400+ hours of gameplay and still found new features.
With Fallout 4 being the first in the series to offer main character voice acting, Bethesda’s taking a risk by including something so foreign to the franchise, but in doing so, it’s obvious the studio has faith in its product, especially by giving the action-RPG more dialogue than Skyrim and Fallout 3 combined. Plus, Taylor’s ebullient praise of the painstaking craftsmanship involved with the title’s plot and gameplay will certainly delight long-time fans, and could sway the decision of those who are still on the fence about purchasing the title. In fact, the full interview linked at the bottom of the article is well worth the read.
There’s only one week away until Fallout 4 officially climbs out of the vault, and it’s clear the anticipation is mounting. Sure, tons of gameplay footage and details have leaked, but that just spoils all the fun. With so little wait left before we can finally play it, the best course of action is to sit back, relax, and let the excitement of expectation wash over us all like the thermal radiation from a nuclear blast.
Fallout 4 is set to release on November 10, 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
