Now, it looks as though the developer is ready to further tease the background of the next League of Legends champion. Riot Games has created a website called Glasc Industries that acts as a sort of company webpage for the new champion. Presumably, this champion is the founder of this company, named Renata Glasc.

That, of course, is not yet confirmed, but the only name present on the page was that of the founder, Renata Glasc. The website paints Renata Glasc in a positive light, an innovator and visionary that wishes to expand Glasc Industries to Piltover while also introducing new products that redefine beauty through technology. Interestingly enough though, as stated in the dev video, this champion will be a dark enchanter support that will make “players feel like the boss that they are.” It appears as though the technology and enhancements that Glasc Industries manufactures will be making their way to Summoners Rift.
Regardless, of whether the League of Legends champion is indeed the founder Renata Glasc, this new champion is confirmed to be from Zaun or Piltover. This means that, like Zeri, this new champion has a good chance of being teased or introduced in the upcoming seasons of Arcane. Zeri appears to be a heroine, while, if the tease in the developer video is to be believed, this support will potentially be some form of antagonist.
If this is the case, it’s a smart decision that simultaneously expands both League of Legends and the series Arcane. As for the champion’s abilities, there wasn’t much information present, but from what is written on the site and the teases given early, it’s safe to assume this support champion will have a kit that enhances allies through damage rather than healing.
It’s also not known when this support champion will be coming out. February seems too soon for a new champion release, as Zeri was only released a week ago. March or April seem like a more likely window because League of Legends is still going through its Lunar event that features new champion skins. Still, a reveal this quick after the release of a champion is exciting news. At this pace, 2022 looks as though it will be a great one for League of Legends.

League of Legends has been no stranger to teasing fans with tidbits and details about upcoming characters throughout the game’s ten-plus years as one of the most popular games in the world. A champion roadmap from the start of 2022 revealed plenty of League’s upcoming plans for the year, with the presentation officially unveiling Zeri as the then-newest champion and teasing both the previously mentioned Renata and a new champion hailing from the Void, the first since Kai’Sa’s release in 2018. Now, a pair of new videos from League of Legends are teasing the game’s newest character and her connection with two past characters.

A pair of new videos from Riot Games titled “Message to the Eye of the Void” and “Message to the Prophet of the Void” set up the new Void champion’s connection with both Malzahar and Vel’koz, teasing their position as “The Empress” of the Void. The visuals heavily lend themselves to suggest the new champion will be the previously leaked Bel’veth and showcase her ambitions of taking down Runeterra, making reference to the Watchers as well as showing imagery of Shurima’s Sun Disc being split in two.
The release of the game’s newest Void champion will be the first character from the region to join the game in nearly four years since the launch of the previously-mentioned Kai’Sa. Previous leaks have shown off Bel’veth’s character model as well as several of her animations, suggesting the character’s Ultimate will allow her to transform into her beastly “true form.” Each video also includes a date and time within the video’s description, both sharing the date of May 20 at 12:00 PM PT, heavily suggesting Riot will officially unveil Bel’veth later this week.
While Riot has not made an official announcement about Bel’veth’s release yet, the character will join as the 160th member of a League of Legends roster that is looking to see many of its oldest faces receiving updates throughout the year. A recent Champion Roadmap released last month gave fans an update on the long-awaited Udyr update, as well as revealing that both Aurelion Sol and Skarner were set to receive major changes throughout the year. The addition of Bel’veth will give fans of the Void a long-awaited return to the region and further bolster League of Legends’ massive library of characters.
